Amazing Feats in Packing and Moving - Part 2

I am a bit behind on blog posts. We have been more than a little busy in the past few weeks. Now we are busy relaxing and trying to unwind since we arrived here in New England on Wednesday. Here is a short summary of all the craziness that is moving to China, stage I:

Number of bags packed in one morning: NINE
  • Big thanks to Jenny for entertaining Milan for a few hours while we got this all done!
Number of pounds of crap shipped to CA to take on the airplane to China: 400 lbs
  • We shipped most of our luggage to Tim's sister's house so we don't have to drag them all over the US for the next month. THANK YOU to Tina for transporting and storing 400 lbs of bags until we get there! I promise we'll take them all with us when we fly out of LAX on August 7th.
Number of fast-food establishments visited on June 30th, move-out day: THREE
  • Breakfast, lunch, and dinner each at a different fast-food place. Does that count as a balance diet?
Number of different ways all of our stuff can fit into a 7'x10' storage unit: only ONE, but poor Tim must have tried 17 other [failed] configurations.
  • A huge shout-out to my Wheaton Area Mom's club friends who entertained Milan at an awesome playgroup on our move-out day so we could finish up the storage unit and clean out the apartment! We are going to miss you guys!
Number of times the cat and Milan woke up each other crying in the back seat of the car on the 9 hour drive to my parents' house: at least 73 times
  • Good times. And don't forget the midnight phantom poop incident, when we couldn't tell if one or the other had soiled the diaper/cat carrier.
All-in-all it has gone really well and we are so excited, happy, and relieved to be done with the packing, cleaning, and moving-out stage of the move! Now we on vacation and enjoying friends and family for a month as we travel around New England, Colorado, and then California.

And now some visual aides for the packing/moving experience!

All of our worldly possessions are pictured in the next three photos:
